After an eventful 2023, this SME has undergone a thorough restructuring and is now confirming its recovery and renewal.

Founded in 2015 under the name D’Orlando GPI, GPI grew rapidly, notably completing one of its first major projects for a renowned hospital: the Hôpital de la Tour (2016–2017). In less than 10 years, its turnover has reached several tens of millions of francs.

The transformation of the company

From the end of 2023, GPI came under the control of new shareholders, represented by Jean Degaudenzi and Bernard Riondel, both active for several decades in the Geneva real-estate sector. The arrival of these new shareholders considerably strengthened the company’s financial and commercial resources. The sad passing of the former co-founder and managing director François Culot in December 2023, a leading figure in the sector, was an additional challenge for GPI. Nicolas Sparfel nevertheless took over, drawing on 18 years of experience in the sector in Geneva, becoming managing director in April 2024.

Looking ahead

GPI expects its turnover to grow by between 2% and 4% per year, the aim being to keep full control over the company’s growth and, above all, over the quality of the services provided. With its 183 employees, GPI is also a major employer in the Geneva finishing-trades sector. What sets it apart: it brings together all the trades needed to carry out complex projects without resorting to subcontracting. Plasterers, builders, partition and false-ceiling installers, painters, paperhangers, decorators, ornamental plasterers, insulation fitters, facade specialists… a wealth of expertise brought together to guarantee controlled lead times and quality workmanship.

Working in private, institutional and public markets alike, GPI operates on everything from rental apartments to large residential complexes, and from private villas to industrial and commercial buildings, with professionalism and rigour. Committed to passing on skills and know-how, GPI also invests in the future by training around ten apprentices in rare and sought-after trades such as ornamental plasterer and paperhanger, actively helping to preserve a unique craft heritage. It also takes on 5 to 8 people who are immigrants or returning to work, in partnership with the CPSO, the AI, Réalise, the ORIF and Yojao.

Avec 183 collaborateurs, dont près de 170 ouvriers, GPI est un employeur majeur du secteur.
